About Us

Attentional Growth Inc

Is a non-profit organization, 501(c)(3), whose main purpose is to promote health and provide educational enrichment programming for members of the helping professions and the general public. It was founded and incorportated on April 12, 2004 in Birmingham, Alabama and primarily serves Alabama the the south east.

Jim Robey

Jim, a personal trainer for the mind and soul is founder and executiave director of Attentional Growth Inc.
Originally from Birmingham Alabama he has degrees from Birmingham-Southern College, Southern Methodist University, and Emory University.

He is well-known for his humor, warmth, insight and hugability.

He and his wife of 24 years have 2 grown children and two grandchildren...and two dogs!

Jim is a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach (CPCC) from the coaches Training Institute , and is also a member of The International Coaching Federation.

What Jim brings		speaker and consultant and business leader
	Life experiences, including grief, loss, divorce, remarriage, adoption, raising teenagers and my own spiritual journey. He has done considerable coounseling with couples, trouble youth, and individuals learning to cope with lifes trial and tribulations. He also head a grief group for those who have recently lost a loved one.

	Jim has 35 years pastoral ministry as a United Methodist minister, working in 3 denominations, 10 local churches, and leading ecumenical and inter-faith events. He has honed his skills by being a pastoral counselor, spiritual director, hospital chaplain, youth director, seminar leader and teacher. Participation and leadership in The Walk to Emmaus, Young Adult Chrysalis, The Academy for Spiritual Formation.
	Jim yearns to work with all ages of people. For example, He is providing life coaching for teenagers through school systems, adults and families affected by natural disasters, and adults in life transitions. He has.....a spirituality which reaches out to all people. a passion for people, especially ministers and their families. And he counsels not through preaching but rather listening and connecting.

Other Memberships

Clergy member of the North Alabama Conference, United Methodist Church. He has been Appointed to Extension Ministry (ATEM) as Ministry Missioner with Attentional Growth Inc. (an approved Mission Advance Special).

He is endorsed as a Pastoral Counselor by the United Methodist Endorsing Agency of the General Board of Higher Education & Ministry, UMC.

Other memberships include American Association of Pastoral Counselors (AAPC), Society for the Advancement of Continuing Education in Ministry (SACEM), and Spiritual Directors International (SDI)
